The PBX Operator reports to the Communications Supervisor. They answer and transfer all incoming calls to the Hospital. They monitor the Lifeline system and follow up on any system activations. They are responsible for following all Hospital policies and procedures.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in switchboard operations preferred. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, have the ability to reach, grab and lift objects 10 pounds or more and have hearing and vision correctable within normal ranges. Must also have the ability to differentiate colors and have fine dexterity with both hands.
Excellent customer service skills, ability to work with others in close proximity, ability to multi- task and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred.
